The campaign against software patents is very important.

• Because software patents are really bad. Learn why by reading the site of the FFII campaign against software patents or [1].
• Because it is the first time that a directive proposed by the commission gets stopped by the european parliament after a common position has been reached by the council. This is mainly the result of unprecedented mobilisation on european level. FFII coordinated the movement and intensively used opportunities offered by the web. For example, they organised quite sucessfull web-demos.
